From Vulnerable to Reliable: How uni DTB Transformed Boseler Goldschmaus' Beef Processing

This upgrade has not only minimised maintenance needs but also provided a long-term, cost-effective solution to ongoing production challenges. But what led to this transformation?

Confronting breakdowns, rising costs, and food safety

Before the advancement, Boseler Goldschmaus faced an uphill battle with frequent breakdowns and costly interruptions.

Located in Oldenburg, Germany, the company struggled with plastic modular belts in its cutting lines that couldn’t handle the weight of heavy meat parts. This led to damaged hinges and edges, resulting in costly downtime and escalating maintenance expenses. Additionally, difficult cleaning processes and deep cuts in the belts significantly shortened their lifespan, causing frustration for the team and threatening the regular base of the investment.

Recognising the urgent need for change, Boseler Goldschmaus partnered with Ammeraal Beltech Germany, which introduced the durable uni DTB conveyor belt made of Polyketone. This straightforward solution required no modifications to the existing sprockets, ensuring a smooth transition while improving food safety practices by acting like a shield against foreign body contamination.

The superior deboning and trimming belt

Since the installation of the uni DTB belt, the results have been remarkable.

The company has experienced no breakages, thanks to its robust design and heavy-duty edges, making it ideal for demanding operations. Even after six months of use, the uni DTB belt demonstrated significantly fewer cuts compared to its Acetal counterparts.

A representative from Boseler Goldschmaus remarked, “We have been using the uni DTB belt for more than 12 months now, and still no belt exchange has been needed thanks to its strong material. Switching from the competitor’s belt was easy; it was truly plug-and-play with no need to change sprockets. On top of that, the uni DTB offers an exceptionally attractive price.”

Together we are stronger

Founded in 1988 under the principle of “Together we are stronger,” Boseler Goldschmaus began as a group of nearly thirty farmers from the Bösel region.

Initially butchering around 35,000 hogs each year, the association quickly grew into a mid-sized business that has firmly established itself in the market.

Today, the Goldschmaus Gruppe processes an impressive 35,000 hogs and 2,000 cattle every week, using four dedicated slaughter lines at their Oldenburg facility to ensure a steady supply of beef.

This successful partnership with Ammeraal Beltech highlights Boseler Goldschmaus’ dedication to continually improving its processes, ensuring both innovation and quality as it meets the evolving demands of the meat processing industry.
