HKScan, the Finnish manufacturer of meat foods and products, announced the inauguration of its poultry plant based in Rauma, Finland, which cost 80 million euros to build, making this the largest investment in the history of the company.

"We get the latest technology on the market, creating opportunities to develop more innovative Kariniemen® products into HKScan's domestic and export markets. This will improve our conditions for growth and strengthen our market position significantly in HKScan's strategically important product category. We want to offer consumers tasty and responsible everyday life, "says Jari Latvanen, Managing Director of HKScan. "Additional capacity in the production of the products allows broiler breeders to expand their production and develop their business".

The new unit will improve the overall profitability of the farm-to-fork chain and consolidate HKScan's position on the poultry market, boosting, in addition, the local poultry farming and employment.

HKScan started construction at the poultry plant in 2016, which will reach full capacity in production by the end of this year.
