Hungary: Bird flu confirmed again in Bács-Kiskun County

The disease was detected in a herd of 5,000 mulard ducks in Kiskunfélegyháza, Bács-Kiskun County. The presence of the disease was indicated by the appearance of nervous system symptoms, a decrease in water consumption, and a slightly higher than usual mortality rate. The authority has designated a 3-kilometer protective zone and an extended observation zone around the affected farm. The herd is being liquidated.

Preventing the emergence and spread of the disease is crucial for the entire poultry sector! It is essential to fully comply with disease control measures on livestock farms, prevent cross-infection from wild birds, be vigilant among livestock keepers and veterinarians, and, in case of suspicion, quickly send samples and follow the usual protocols.
