INTERPORC, the central meeting point of the pig sector at Alimentaria 2024

Once again, INTERPORC will be present at the Alimentaria fair, held from March 18 to 21 at the Gran Vía Campus in Barcelona, specifically at stand D 351 located in Pavilion 3. It is an unmissable event for professionals in the food, beverage and food service sector, where the meat sector has a large presence.

INTERPORC, the central meeting point of the pig sector at Alimentaria 2024

Like every year, the INTERPORC stand becomes the meeting point for the sector to show visitors to the fair the benefits of consuming white pork meat as part of a  balanced diet. At the fair we will carry out various activities such as ham and sausage tasting, show cooking, and cooking competitions during all days of the fair. In addition, we will have an area set up at our stand so that attendees can taste snacks of various types:  ham cooked with olive oil and paprika on muffin bread, cooked ham with grilled cheese on sliced bread, Serrano ham with tomato and olive oil in a crystalline bun, chorizo with brie cheese grilled on sliced bread, country sausage with tomato and olive oil on muffin bread, hot dog with crispy onion and ketchup and mustard sauces.

Other activities:

  • tasting and cutting of white-layered ham by the master cutter José Sabiote González, champion of the INTERPORC SPAIN 2021 International White-layered Ham Cutter Competition
  • chefs Mayela Armas and Marga Lee will carry out various daily showcookings, who will show their great skills in preparing recipes with white cape pork, both nationally and internationally
  • visitors will have the opportunity to taste a wide variety of products made from white cape pork

In addition, INTERPORC will hold a cooking contest with the School of Hospitality and Tourism of Barcelona, where the students will use white-layered pork as the main ingredient to make their creations and thus surprise all the visitors who come to the stand. Through this action, all students will be able to put into practice their skills and knowledge acquired during their training, highlighting all the work and effort of these young talents. On the last day of the fair, the awards ceremony will be held for the best recipe made with this ingredient.

In parallel to all these activities, INTERPORC will collaborate with Alimentaria in the Hosted Buyers program, inviting international importers from the Philippines, Malaysia, Canada, Taiwan, Hong Kong and South Korea. Within the framework of the fair, INTERPORC will also organize the signing of collaboration agreements with associations from the Philippines and Malaysia.

As a novelty, INTERPORC will have an interactive space integrated into their stand, where visitors will be able to live an immersive experience through a virtual visit to a farm. Also, INTERPORC will have an interactive activity where visitors will be able to test their knowledge about the white-coated pork sector and products.
