INTERPORC’s success at SIAL China: a demonstration of quality and leadership
The event was a platform for important commercial and institutional meetings with local companies and Chinese and Spanish authorities, highlighted by the visit of Luis Planas, Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food of Spain, to the INTERPORC pavilion. Their presence reaffirmed the government's support for the pork industry with the Chinese authorities and underlined its strength in a first-class setting such as this fair.
A strength that was also reflected in the size of the 20 Spanish companies present in the INTERPORC pavilion, whose annual production exceeds three million tonnes of pork meat and pork products. Their participation confirmed not only the volume of business that Spain represents in China, but also the high quality and constant innovation that characterise its products.
On the other hand, the Spanish Interprofessional Pavilion was one of the most visited at the exhibition, due to the many activities planned. Amongst other things, visitors were able to take part in culinary activities such as show cooking by the renowned chef Marcos Ramos and ham tasting developed by master butcher Raquel Acosta.
The aim of these activities was not only to demonstrate the versatility of white pork and its adaptability to the Chinese cuisine, but also to inform the public about Spanish gastronomic culture and increase their appreciation of its culinary delights.
For all these reasons, the fair left a very positive balance for the white pork sector in Spain, reinforcing its status as a benchmark for pork quality and sustainability in Asia and the rest of the world.
