INTERPORC launches the Serrano Ham Sandwich Route to showcase its flavor and nutritional benefits
The Serrano Ham Sandwich Route will visit 20 cities in seven autonomous communities in a mobile unit, bringing an educational and participatory approach to the streets that combines culinary workshops, nutritional talks, and interactive activities designed for all audiences.
One of the main attractions of the route is the healthy sandwich-making workshop, where attendees can create their own recipe with ingredients such as tomato, arugula, cured cheese, and so on, always featuring Serrano ham. A nutritionist accompanies the experience, explaining the nutritional benefits of ham and its role in a balanced Mediterranean diet.
The mobile unit also features touchscreens, a kitchen, accessibility for people with reduced mobility, a multifunctional area, and an interactive presentation designed for every type of audience, from schoolchildren to families and general visitors.
In addition to a nutritional focus, the talks include content that showcases the white pig sector 's commitment to key aspects such as animal welfare, applying protocols based on international standards and certified by independent entities; sustainability, with constant improvements in efficiency, environmental management, and reduced environmental impact; and the growing leadership of women in the sector, reflecting a real transformation toward a more inclusive and modern model.
This route is another of INTERPORC's efforts to connect with citizens through everyday and authentic experiences, promoting the ham sandwich as a symbol of our culinary culture and an example of balanced, affordable, and tasty food.
