INTERPORC welcomes the signing of the health regionalization agreement between Spain and China
The agreement, signed during His Majesty King Felipe VI's state visit to China, represents a strategic advance of the highest importance for the Spanish pork sector, as it will allow exports to be maintained and consolidated to this important destination.
INTERPORC has congratulated and thanked the Government of Spain, the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation, the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Business, the Spanish Embassy in China, and all the officials and teams deployed to Chengdu and Beijing for their intensive work over the past few months. The Interprofessional Association also emphasized the fundamental role of His Majesty the King, whose institutional support was key to the successful conclusion of this agreement.
INTERPORC President Manuel García emphasized that “the signing of this agreement is a historic milestone for the Spanish pork sector and an example of the effectiveness of coordinated work between government and the private sector. Spain is thus consolidating its position as a solid and reliable partner for China in the agri-food sector.”
During these days, INTERPORC has held high-level meetings with Chinese authorities and companies and has actively participated in the Spain-China Business Meeting held in Chengdu, where it organized a ham cutting and tasting event, promoting its distinctive qualities to all the Chinese institutional and business representatives who attended the event.
The Interprofessional Association reaffirms its commitment to continue collaborating closely with Spanish and Chinese authorities to strengthen trade relations, open new market opportunities and consolidate the image of Spanish white-coated pigs as a global benchmark in quality, food safety, sustainability and animal welfare.
