The same performance can also be seen in the dollar balance of exports. Between January and September, pork sales in Brazil reached US $ 1.677 billion, a balance that exceeds by 51.9% the result verified between January and September 2019, with US $ 1.103 billion. The performance accumulated in 2020 is also greater than all the revenue obtained in 2019, of US $ 1.597 billion.

Considering only the month of September, sales in the sector totaled 86.5 thousand tons, a volume 33% higher than that achieved in the same period of 2019, with 65 thousand tons. In revenue, the monthly high is 34%, with $ 188.5 million in the ninth month of 2020, against $ 140.5 million in 2019.

Asia continues to be the main promoter of sector exports in 2020 (January to September). China, the largest importer of Brazilian pork, increased its imports by 133% in the total this year compared to 2019, reaching 376,700 tonnes. Second, Hong Kong imported 131,600 tonnes (+ 14%). Singapore, with 41.9 thousand tons (+ 61%) was in third place. Vietnam, meanwhile, increased its imports by 205%, with 32,900 tonnes shipped in 2020.

“We have good expectations for maintaining this pace over the next few months. The indications strengthen ABPA's predictions of reaching a number close to 1 million tonnes exported in 2020. This, without impacting the offer of products to the Brazilian consumer ”, analyzes Ricardo Santin, president of ABPA.
