India's meat exports reached almost 10.9 lakh tons (1.09 million tons) worth $3.3 billion between April and December 2017, according to a statement released by the government.

India's meat exports reached $3.3 bn between April and December 2017

As reported by India Today, Lok Sabha, Minister of State for Commerce and Industry C R Chaudhary said India's meat shipments were 10,89,525 tons during April-December period for $3,317.82 million.

Buffalo meat accounted for a share of 10.7 lakh tons (1.07 million tons) worth $3.21 million from the total exports.

India exported 13.45 lakh tons (1.34 million tons) worth $4.03 million in the last fiscal. Buffalo meat exports were situated at 13.23 lakh tons (1.32 million tons) worth $3.9 million.
