Ipack Ima focuses on the future of packaging and processing

Cutting-edge technologies, increasingly connected machines and the human factor; energy-saving solutions capable of efficiently packaging products with an original design and combining practicality, sustainability and low cost; new trends that are becoming established with the development of new distribution channels: these are just a few of the themes that will be explored during IPACK-IMA 2021, to be held from 4 to 7 May 2021 at the Fiera Milano exhibition centre in Rho, Italy.

Based on strategic collaboration between Ucima and Fiera Milano, this outstanding international showcase of technologies will explore the future of processing and packaging and will anticipate market trends in food and non-food production sectors with a comprehensive and transversal but highly integrated range of exhibits.

With its strong focus on ideas, the exhibition will give entrepreneurs, managers and specialist technicians a chance to discover the most innovative solutions for production and packaging, labelling, traceability and the end-of-line stage while promoting technology transfer through flexible and increasingly customised applications.

In conjunction with MEAT-TECH, the event organised by Ipack Ima and devoted to solutions and ingredients for the cured meat, meat and derivatives industry, in 2018 the two shows reported outstanding combined figures including 1,503 exhibitors, a net exhibition area of more than 62,000 square metres extending over 9 halls and more than 74,000 visitors, of which 25% were international buyers from 146 foreign countries.

This marked an important starting point for the future development of an exhibition project that is increasingly focused on internationalisation. With this in mind, Ipack Ima is organising a series of initiatives leading up to the 2021 exhibitions with the aim of promoting interaction between exhibitors and buyers and strengthening the combined role of IPACK-IMA and MEAT-TECH as an all-year platform for the manufacturing industry.

One of the international initiatives already scheduled is E-PACK TECH Shanghai, the new Ipack-Ima event devoted to packaging solutions specifically designed for the e-commerce channel.
The first edition of the event will be held in China from 23 to 26 October 2019 during CeMAT Asia, the largest Asian exhibition of advanced supply chain management solutions. In keeping with a supply chain vision, the offerings of IPACK-IMA and MEAT-TECH integrate perfectly with The Innovation Alliance, the platform consisting of five exhibitions (IPACK-IMA, MEAT-TECH, Plast, Intralogistica Italia and Print4All) held concurrently from 4 to 7 May where buyers can enjoy a unique trade fair experience spanning no fewer than 17 halls in the Fiera Milano exhibition centre.
