Iran wants to increase meat imports from Mongolia
During an official visit on July 6, 2018, to Mongolia, Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Mahmoud Faransande has expressed his country's interest in importing more meat from Mongolia.
The Iranian official visited two Mongolian meat companies, according to asiarussia.ru.
Last year, Iran already signed an agreement with Mongolia to receive 4,000 tons of lamb.
Mongolia is currently exporting approximatively 10,000 tons of meat annually to Russia, China, Japan and Kazakhstan.
The country has an estimated export capacity of an annual 5 million head of cattle or nearly 100,000 tons of meat.
