Israel remains the highest-paying market for Paraguayan beef

Israel remains the highest-paying market for Paraguayan beef at the end of August, at USD 6,466 per ton, according to the Central Bank of Paraguay (BCP). It is followed by Brazil, Chile, and Taiwan, all of which have seen year-over-year increases in implicit prices.

Israel remains the highest-paying market for Paraguayan beef

According to the latest foreign trade report from the central bank, Israel is the country that paid the highest price for Paraguayan beef between January and August, at USD 6,466, which represents a  24.7% increase compared to what it paid during the same period last year.

At the end of the eighth month, Israel was the third-largest market for Paraguayan meat, acquiring  23,800 tons  worth  USD 153.6 million , which implies growth of 75.3% in value and 40.6% in volume, compared to the same period in 2024.

Brazil remains the second most valuable market for Paraguayan beef, paying  USD 6,382 per ton. This price is 12.6% higher  than the price recorded between January and August 2024. The neighboring country was the fifth largest buyer of domestic beef protein at the end of August, acquiring 13,500 tons for USD 84.4 million. These figures, however, showed year-on-year decreases in both volume and value, on the order of -25% and -15%, respectively.

Chile was the third country with the highest price per ton of Paraguayan beef, paying USD 6,010 per ton at the end of August. It should be noted that  Chile is the largest buyer of beef from our country, importing 77,200 tons in the eighth month for USD 464.2 million.

According to the BCP (Brazil's Central Bank), while the volume imported into the Chilean market fell 10.4% in the eighth month compared to 2024, its value grew 5.2% year-on-year. Taiwan follows the list with USD 5,930 per ton  of Paraguayan beef between January and August, being the country with the largest price increase compared to the same period last year,  growing 25.1% .

At the same time, Taiwan closed the previous month as the second-largest market for Paraguayan beef, acquiring 31,200 tons through August for USD 184.7 million, representing a growth of 26.9% in volume and 58.8% in value.

Canada and the United States closed August with prices of USD 5,588 and USD 5,529, respectively. The price paid by the Canadian market increased 24.2% year-over-year, while the US price increased 23.4% year-over-year.
