Japan and the Philippines lead the growth in Spanish pork exports

Japan imported 191,853 tons of pork and pork products from Spain, valued at €787.22 million, representing an increase of 8.69% in volume (15,340 more tons) and 21.65% in value (140.11 million more).

For its part, the Philippines received 186,298 tons, valued at €316.58 million, representing a 27.94% increase in volume (40,689 tons more) and a 15.78% increase in value (43.15 million more).

These increases reflect the strength of the Spanish pork sector and its ability to consolidate its position in key global markets. Daniel de Miguel, INTERPORC 's International Director , views this progress in Asia as a result of the Spanish pork sector's international strategy. "This success in key markets like Japan and the Philippines confirms the effectiveness of the efforts we are carrying out in the region to ensure that their consumers, importers, and authorities understand our products and our production system."

Actions range from participation in trade shows to advertising and public relations campaigns, promotions at points of sale and in restaurants, and tasting events aimed at both professionals and consumers of pork and pork products.

Therefore, De Miguel emphasizes that "despite the challenging global trade environment, the Spanish pork sector continues to strengthen in the world's most demanding markets. Our commitment to quality, food safety, and innovation is the best guarantee for continued growth in highly competitive markets".
