Kazakhstan limits poultry imports from Russia over AI fears

Kazakhstan has temporarily banned the imports of poultry meat and poultry products from Russia due to the outbreak of highly pathogenic avian influenza (AI) in the regions of Oryol, Rostov, and Nizhny Novgorod.

Kazakhstan limits poultry imports from Russia over AI fears

The Committee for Veterinary Control and Supervision of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan said in a statement sent to Russian agriculture watchdog Rosselkhoznadzor that the country is temporarily restricting the imports of live poultry and hatching eggs, feathers, poultry meat and all poultry meat products that did not undergo heat treatment from Russia.

Other products such as fodder and feed additives for birds, hunting trophies that have not undergone taxidermy treatment, as well as used equipment for breeding, slaughtering and cutting of birds from the Russian Federation.
