Manila enjoys the Spanish white pork culinary experience
The event organized by INTERPORC and Filporc in Manila, within a campaign co-financed with European funds, was attended by a select group of guests, mainly professionals from food services and the pork sector, importers and representatives of the administration. All of them had the opportunity to taste delicious dishes and interact with industry professionals in an exclusive environment.
The first product contact was a cutting demonstration of Serrano ham carried out by a master carver. As always, it was the ideal prelude to a culinary experience that began with the tasting of the jamón itself.
Also, four proposals made with white pork as the star ingredient were tasted. To demonstrate its versatility, the recipes showed various European and Filipino dishes made with four different cuts: secreto, loin, ribs and pork belly.
The experience was completed with a selection of European Union wines that complemented the distinctive flavors of each dish.
In addition, INTERPORC also included educational sessions in the event where the most delicious parts of our pig were shown to attendees. The keys that have turned the European pig industry, and especially the Spanish one, into a world leader for its modern livestock, sustainable and respectful with animal welfare were also shown.
The Philippines is a market whose demand for imported pork continues to grow. Specifically, Spain is the leading supplier of pork to the Philippine market, where last year 144,891 tons of fresh meat and processed products were exported for a total of 271.5 million euros.
