Meat House is exhibiting at BFE & CARNEXPO 2022

The presence at the exhibition is very important for the company's development, as Armen Meserlian, Managing Director of VRC MEATMED LTD/Meat House, told us in the exclusive interview below:

What goals have you set for participating in Bucharest Food Expo & CARNEXPO 2022?

Our main goal is to create and strengthen the brand of our new Meat House slaughterhouse that operates in Romania from April 2021. Our participation in Bucharest Food Expo & CARNEXPO offers the opportunity to increase the awareness of our project in Romania through communication and and empathy to our partners, emphasizing that we are the future for the Romanian pork industry.

How would you describe the meat market in Romania and what kind of partnerships do you propose to local processors?

In one word I can describe it as the future, and that is why, since 2016, we have been investing heavily in entering this market. The investments we have made in buying land, building pig farms with state-of-the-art technology and operating our slaughterhouse shows how much we believe in the Romanian market.

The type of partners we are looking for are serious buyers who are committed to long-term collaborations and are not only interested in spot deals. In another way, we are looking for partners who want to be partners, companies with stable businesses that are ready for development based on quality and mutual respect.

How do you characterize the pig sector at the moment? How has it evolved in recent years?

If I have to characterize the current pork sector in one word, then I would simply say complicated. From my 17 years of experience in the meat sector, I can say that every 2-5 years the industry is hit by an extreme incident that has serious consequences for the global meat sector.

If we go back to the timeline, we list some events as follows:

  1. The global recession from 2008 to 2013 which made many companies go bankrupt, therefore credibility was lost between sellers and buyers, business was constrained due to lack of cash flow
  2. 2018-2019 global pork industry was dictated by events in China regarding African swine fever
  3. 2 years ago we had a pandemic that affected the global supply chain and meat consumption
  4. Today we are witnessing a stagflation that has resulted from the Russia/Ukraine war.

What products will you promote at the exhibition stand?

At Bucharest Food Expo & CARNEXPO we will promote our entire range of pork products and we invite all specialists from the meat industry and retail to our stand A026 to get to know us and to establish long-term partnerships.

Request a meeting with Meat House representatives at the Bucharest Food Expo & CARNEXPO exhibition that will take place between 29.09- 02.10 2022 at Romaero in Bucharest, Romania.
