Paraguay: Meatpacking plant completes first meat export to Panama
The National Animal Health and Quality Service (Senacsa) reported that the Victoria meatpacking plant made its first export of beef to the Panamanian market, which was recently opened for Paraguayan meat products.
"The first shipments, sent by the Victoria meatpacking plant, mark the beginning of the expansion and positioning of Paraguayan meat products in Panama, and the strengthening of trade relations between the two countries," the veterinary service emphasized.
Last August, the Panamanian Food Agency authorized the importation of beef from Paraguay, thus adding a new market for local red protein. Paraguay is considered a high-consumption destination with a demand for premium cuts, according to information provided after the authorization.
A few days ago, the meatpacking plant announced it will take a historic step by beginning beef exports to the United States market in early November. This is considered a strategic destination for the growth of the Paraguayan meat sector.
