Paraguay: Pork sector strengthens and projects new export destinations
"The arrival of the Taiwanese market brought us stability and sustained economic prosperity", said Enzo Mannarini, president of the association. He explained that the entry into demanding destinations marked a turning point for the industry, which now trades with the Philippines and other Asian countries, opening up new prospects for Paraguayan producers.
The APPC, founded in 2017 by small and medium-sized entrepreneurs, has experienced a notable strengthening, thanks to the coordinated work between the private sector and public organizations, such as SENACSA, the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock, and the Ministry of Industry and Commerce.
"This teamwork is yielding concrete results and positioning Paraguayan pork in highly competitive markets", said Mannarini.
The positive impact of the sector's recovery is not limited to the economic sphere. "The pork industry is also beginning to generate a significant social impact, with more employment, dynamism in rural communities, and new opportunities for thousands of families", added the president of the APPC.
With stable prices, expanded export capacity, and ongoing negotiations, the sector appears optimistic and poised to consolidate its position as a pillar of Paraguay's agro-industrial economy.
