Paraguayan meat exports get near $2 billion milestone
Paraguay meat exports have increased by 70% in the first three quarters of this year, according to data collected by National Service for Animal Quality and Health (Senacsa). As a result, the industry expects historic profits that may reach $2 billion.
During “Senacsa Night” at Expo 2021, Senacsa's President Jose Carlos Martín explained that all meat export items -beef and its offal, pork and its offal, poultry meat and its offal, as well as products and by-products of animal origin- are expected to yield un unprecedented US $ 2 billion income, which would represent a 70% growth compared to 2020 figures. Due to the ban on Argentinian beef exports, Paraguay and Uruguay have consolidated their position in the international market. Last month, Senacsa reported that in the first seven months of this year, beef exports reached 211,650 tonnes, in addition to 38.2 million kilos of giblets.
