Pilgrim's is named "Food Manufacturer of the Year" in the United Kingdom

Pilgrim's Europe, controlled by JBS, was named Food Manufacturer of the Year at the 26th edition of the Food Manufacture Excellence Awards, held in London. The award is one of the most prestigious in the UK sector and celebrates the best operational standards and processes in the food and beverage industry.

This achievement reflects the consolidation of the company's strategy, supported by an investment of £109 million (US$148.4 million) in fiscal year 2024. The investment was strategically allocated to modernize operations: £40 million (US$54.4 million) was allocated to the poultry sector, £19 million (US$25.8 million) to the pork chain, and £12 million (US$16.3 million) to the ready meals division, aiming at capacity expansion and automation. The focus on innovation resulted in the launch of more than 700 new products in the last year.

The award also recognizes Pilgrim's Europe's strong people management practices, which today employs over 17,000 people in more than 40 factories across Europe. The company continuously invests in development programs and technical courses to boost its employees' careers, in addition to offering benefits packages.

This commitment to creating opportunities was highlighted with the " Future Talent Award" win , given to Heather Grealy. The senior manager was recognized for her leadership at the Richmond brand. The recognition reflects the talent pipeline the company has built to support its next phase of growth.

“This recognition is a source of immense pride for all of us at Pilgrim's Europe. It reflects the consistent work of a highly committed team that strives every day to raise standards of quality, safety, and efficiency in our operations,” says Ivan Siqueira, President of Pilgrim's Europe. “This award validates the strategy we have been following and, above all, recognizes the collective effort of our teams,” he adds.

Pilgrim's Europe's operational excellence also translates into financial strength. The company reported an after-tax profit of £128.4 million (US$174.8 million) - surpassing the £106 million (US$144.3 million) of the previous year - and increased its profit margin from 4.2% to 6%, with total revenue of £4.06 billion (US$5.5 billion). In addition to recognition at the Food Manufacture Awards, the company has accumulated recent awards from major partners, including "Supplier of the Year" from Sainsbury's.
