Prices for beef increased by 16% in Kazakhstan

The average retail price for beef in Kazakstan has reached 1426.3 tenges (3.68 euros) per kilogram at the end of October 2017, an increase by 15.6% year-over-year (192.7 tenges or 0.50 euros), and compared to the previous month the price increased by 0.7% (9.4 tenges or 0.02 euros), according to the data provided by Ranking.kz.

Prices for beef increased by 16% in Kazakhstan

 

The annual growth in the price of beef by the end of October last year was 6.3% (73.4 tenges or 0.19 euros), up to 1233.7 tenges (3.19 euros) per kilogram.

Among the cities of Kazakhstan, the lowest prices for beef was reported in Taraz, 1297 tenges (3.35 euros) per kilogram respectively. The monthly growth was 1.8% (23 tenges or 0.06 euros), for the year - by 6.7% (81 tenges or 0.21 euros).

Next comes Petropavlovsk - 1303 tenges (3.36 euros) per kilogram, the price for the month increased by 4.3% (54 tenges/0.14 euros), for the year by 12.9% (149 tenges/0.38 euros).

Taldykorgan ranks third when referring to the average price - 1317 tenges (3.40 euros) per kilogram. For a month the price for beef has not changed, compared a year growth has made 9,5% (114 tenges/0.29 euros).

The highest prices for beef in Astana are 1661 tenges (4.29 euros) per kilogram, in Atyrau - 1530 tenges (3.95 euros) per kilogram and in Almaty - 1525 tenges (3.94 euros) per kilogram.

In general, meat prices in the country increased by 193 tenges (0.50 euros) per year. But demand fell. For the second quarter of this year, meat consumption in the cities was on average 6.4 kilograms of meat per person, while the average rural consumption reached about 4.8 kilograms. Last year, these figures were more - by 4.3% and 2.2% respectively.
