Romanian slaughterhouse invest €2 million to increase production
€2 million will be invested to increase the production capacities at Peris slaughterhouse, one of the renowned pork processing plants in Romania. "Due to this new context, we have been forced to take a quick decision to cover the demand in the market for fresh pork. Starting 1st May we will double the production capacities for our added value products -Romanina 'mici' and sausages", declared Bogdan Grama, the company's CEO.
According to his statement, most of the funds will be used to automize the production lines through a "no-touch" system and to add new packaging and labeling lines in the unit. Also, the investment will cover the cost of thermal scanner systems acquired to secure the safety of the employees.
The company owns 24 stores in Bucharest and around the city but delivers its products through other retail channels as well. "We are ready to keep a constant flow of production, even if the current situation is to last longer than announced. We stick with our promise to deliver fast and without any disruptions fresh pig meat in our stores and partner stores in less than 30 hours from the slaughter of the animals", added Mr. Grama.
Peris plant has an annual capacity of 500,000 head and is the second-largest slaughterhouse in the country. The company works with 46 pig farms and has been certified IFS.
