Romania's Suinprod is investing 28 million euros to expand

Suinprod Roman (Romania), part of Kosarom Group, is preparing to expand its capacity of production by investing 28 million euros in two projects. The current production is about 98,000 heads, according to Ioan Antoci, CEO Suinprod Roman, but that is about to change soon, according to the local news site Industria Carnii.

In the first phase, the producer will invest 9 million euro to expand its pregnant sows facilities with another 1,500 heads, by the end of this phase the total production growing to 141,000 pigs.

The second investment is about 19.5 million euros and consists in a new pig farm with 4,000 pregnant sows, a breeding farm and a production facility with 36,000 heads. The annual capacity of Suinprod's facilities will allow the company to produce 251,000 pigs making Kosarom Group's processing units to run at full capacity.
