Russia temporarily bans meat and fish imports from Belarusian producers
"The Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Supervision reports that in connection with the re-identification of violations of veterinary and sanitary requirements of the Eurasian Economic Union and the Russian Federation, the Rosselkhoznadzor, from July 4, 2018, introduces temporary restrictions on the supply to the territory of the Russian Federation of products produced by enterprises of the Republic of Belarus," Rosselkhoznadzor's statement read.
The targeted companies are Belaruskali, Kalinkovichskiy Meat Processing Plant and the trout farm, Lohva.
The authorities applied a ban on the meat products imported from Belaruskali and Kalinkovichskiy Meat Processing Plant after they detected the use of tetracycline in the beef products.
Furthermore, the trout farm Lohva was banned from shipping its products to Russia after the Russian authorities detected Escherichia coli in its products.
