Russian poultry producer up for sale
Agricultural holding Prioskolie is putting up for sale some of the assets, including its poultry production and processing sites in a deal that is expected to worth at least $390 million, according to local newspaper Kommersant.
Prioskolie ranks third in the Russian poultry market, with a total production of 452,000 tonnes reported last year. That stands for 7.3% of the country's poultry production.
So far, Cherkizovo, Miratorg and Thailand's CP Foods have shown interest in making a bid for the assets that Prioskolie intends to sell. If completed, the deal will represent the largest M&A operation in the last 5 years in Russia. The previous was done by CP Foods in 2015 when the Thai producer acquired two poultry Russian enterprises.
