Sharp increase in meat imports to Azerbaijan
In January, the country imported 5.044 thousand tons of meat worth a total $7.023 million, according to data released by the State Customs Committee.
The report stated that in the first month of 2019 the imports have increased by 67.5% compared to January 2018.
Between January and November 2018, Azerbaijan imported 43,262 tonnes of meat and food products worth $63,652 thousand.
Compared to the same period in 2017, the imports of meat increased by 9.5% in terms of value and 16.3% in terms of volume.
During the first eleven months of 2018, imports of meat totaled only 0.62% of the country's total imports, as reported by Xezer.
