Spanish pork producer signs large contract with Chinese partners
Spanish pork producers Noel announced the signing of an agreement to supply Horeca channels in the Chiese market with 17,000 tonnes of products by the end of 2021. This comes after the clearance for export from the Chinese authorities in April 8 and the first shipment is expected to take place in June. Last year, the company's exports have accounted for 50% of its turnover. Also, Noel announced that is going to expand its production capacities and does not exclude adding some new products in its portfolio.
Spain has become the largest pork supplier in the Chinese market and that is well seen in the total volume of agricultural exports of the country.
According to the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, the export of meat and pork offal reached 53% of Spain's agricultural exports to China in 2019.
