The Spanish Serrano Ham label strengthens its presence in the Netherlands
Participation in this event is an opportunity to foster business relations with other professionals in the sector and promote Spanish Serrano ham in the Dutch market.
A joint stand to promote Spanish products in the Netherlands
The 24-square-metre stand was shared by the Spanish Serrano Ham Consortium and the Spanish Chorizo Consortium , as part of ICEX's sectoral plan for the promotion of agri-food products in the Dutch market. This strategic plan seeks to increase the visibility and awareness of quality Spanish products in a market as important as the Netherlands, one of the main importers of Serrano ham in Europe.
The actions are part of the agreement signed between CJSE and ICEX with the aim of promoting the Spanish Serrano ham sector in the European and Latin American markets, as well as strengthening its presence throughout 2024 in countries such as France, the Netherlands and Mexico, so that both institutions promote the positioning of this sector and the visibility of Spain in these markets, contributing in turn to the internationalization of the Spanish economy.
A highlight is that this space has had the presence of the CJSE prescriber, Karel Klosse, who conducted a training session and cut Consorcio Serrano ham in front of the public. Also, during these days, showcooking and training activities have been developed with the attendees.
The strategic location in the heart of Europe positions the Netherlands as an excellent market with great business opportunities, both in import and export. In recent years, the Dutch market has been the eighth export destination in the Community of Madrid and one of the most important at a national level, thanks to a first-class logistics infrastructure, which makes it an efficient entry and exit point for goods for the entire European region. In addition, its pro-business policy, together with the dynamism in innovation and tax incentives, make the Netherlands an attractive destination for Spanish companies.
From ICEX, María Naranjo, director of the Agri-Food Industry, highlights the importance of the quality seal of the Serrano Ham Consortium to consolidate the image of excellence of one of the most iconic products in the Spanish pantry. Through actions such as the one carried out in the Netherlands, the presence in the HORECA channel and among professionals and prescribers of the sector is reinforced. The promotion plan that ICEX has been developing with the Consortium for more than twenty years includes a very wide range of activities that also include the training of ham cutters in strategic markets, beyond the EU.
