Turkey's red meat production has declined during last year

Turkey has registered a drop of 0.7% in red meat production during last year, going down from 1.13 million tonnes in 2017 to 1.12 million tonnes, according to the Turkish Statistical Institute.
Beef produced in 2018 accounts for 1 million tonnes, while sheepmeat has reached 100,831 tonnes. Also, goat meat production stood at 13,603 tonnes and buffalo meat has reached 402 tonnes.

According to the statistics, Turkey produced 259,672 tonnes of red meat in the last quarter of 2018, down 12.1% versus the same quarter of 2017. During the quarter, red meat production also fell by 23.5% compared to the previous quarter, shows the report.
