US beef export authorizations to China expired
Chinese Customs regulations require international suppliers to obtain certification, known as CIFER, which establishes effective dates for their establishments. Exporters must complete a series of steps to obtain approval.
Despite the United States' efforts to address the imminent expiration of the established deadline, exporters received no response to their requests, and once the deadline expires, they are said to be outside the Chinese market.
When the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs asked about this situation at a press conference, it referred the inquiry to the relevant authorities, without further explanation.
At the same time, the first hearing will take place on March 31st in the investigation launched following a complaint from Chinese sector organizations regarding the damage that the increase in beef imports has caused to livestock and beef production in their country.
