Viscofan buys off Transform Pack for $2 million

Spanish producer and supplier of casings for meat products Viscofan has acquired 100% of Transform Pack after reaching a deal with a group of private investors and the Canadian province New Brunswich. The transaction is worth $2 million (�1.6 million) and will be undertaken in cash.

Canadian based Transform Pack develops innovative products with value-added technology for packaging material that applies countless formulations to a wide range of packaging material and casings among which stand out those casings with Seasoned Transfer Technology to transfer ingredients such as species, flavors and colors to cold meats and other meat products.

Viscofan expects Transform Pack products to add new dimensions of processing storing and preparing food products for its customers.

"The incorporation of the Transform Pack’s team and its innovative spirit, together with Viscofan’s know-how, own product portfolio and commercial network will definitely open new opportunities and broaden the range of available solutions to the market, ultimately paving the way to allow the development of this type of products in a host of countries worldwide," Viscofan's statement read.
