ASF spreads further in Poland

African Swine Fever continues to spread across Poland, with 31 more outbreaks reported in the last four months, according to official channels. The most worrying part is that some of the incidents reported on pig farms are now appearing in regions where the disease hasn't been reported before.
So far this year, the following outbreaks have been confirmed: 2 in Lublin Voivodeship, 2 in Warmian-Masurian, 1 in Podlasie, 2 in Mazowieckie, 3 in Lodz, 4 in Greater Poland, 3 in Lower Silesia, 5 in Lubuskie, 2 in Lesser Poland and 7 in Subcarpathian Voivodeship.
As for African swine fever cases in wild boar, the numbers are steadily increasing. To date, 1,840 cases have been officially recorded in 2021, a large number of them in the west of the country.
In fact, wild boars crossing the border to Germany have spread the disease to the neighboring country a year ago. Currently, Germany has more than 1200 cases confirmed in its wild boar population and the disease has reached last month small and medium-sized farms in regions bordering Poland.
