Allana establishes itself as a globally cherished brand in the protein meat business

With a vision of leaving an enduring mark of excellence on the global map by providing quality products, The Allana Group are pioneers to recognize the potential of protein meat and its tremendous availability as a food source since 1969. Today Allana has emerged as India’s largest exporter of red meat, comprising Buffalo and lamb meat with 35% market share. Since then, the group has gained an absolute trust among buyers, for being a reliable exporter of risk-free, nutritious, hygienic, competitively priced frozen meat to over 80 countries. With around 57% of the total buffalo population of the world, India is considered as the home to some of the finest breeds of buffaloes and is amongst the largest exporters of ‘bovine’ meat today.

Allana has also established itself as a leading supplier of Halal meat to the Islamic countries for the last 45 years. All livestock are reared naturally in small manageable herds and exclusively fed on natural pastures and agricultural crop residues.  There is no practice of administering hormones or growth promoters to livestock in India. The meat exported from India is prepared strictly in compliance with Islamic requirements of genuine Halal. To ensure the highest quality of Halal meat, the abattoir operations are carefully monitored by Internationally accredited independent associations. The journey has been truly rewarding as the group has established themselves as the World’s largest producer and exporter of frozen Halal Boneless Buffalo Meat dominating the buffalo meat exports market in India.

The Group boasts an annual production capacity of 600,000 metric tonnes of boneless buff meat with state of the art and internationally certified plants. Its integrated meat plants are constructed and operated in accordance with the Codex Alimentarius Standards / OIE Zoo Sanitary Code directions.

They currently own 7 plants, with the largest plant having a capacity of 3000 employees working every day. The group will be inaugurating its 7th Plant this month and have scheduled their expansion to 2 more advanced facilities by the end of the year bringing the total to 9 integrated units with a huge cold storage capacity of 100,000 metric tonnes of frozen protein meat. Their state-of-the-art facilities have highly qualified and experienced veterinarians, microbiologists and food technologists to ensure a strict quality regime adhering to the strict code of conduct when it comes to food handling or its safety.

Alongside the meat harvesting and deboning, they are also India’s largest renderer and pet food exporter, with over 20 fully operational rendering plants.

Allana has been exporting meat products to over 80 countries across the globe, majorly focusing on the markets of ASEAN, Middle East and North Africa. Their exported meat has gained a cult following in many countries including Egypt, Malaysia, Vietnam, Jordan, Saudi Arabia and Philippines as it is preferred over all other meats for manufacture of value added, meat based processed products like hamburgers, sausages and range of canned meat.

The demand from Indonesia alone is enough to handle the total group capacity. The group is trying to capture the large Asian population facing massive meat shortage and are aiming to expand to meet the ever-increasing demand of high-quality product offerings. They have earmarked US$300 million for expansion, including 3 new integrated slaughterhouses with rendering and packing and plan to set up 2 more processing plants for value added goods. Moreover, the group is also setting up 2 new lamb & sheep slaughter units which should be delivered this year. Furthermore, the group is keen to leverage their domestic distribution to include poultry and are exploring multiple acquisitions in the subcontinent to be a top 3 player from the start

The Allana group endeavours to reach new heights keeping innovations and extended offerings at the forefront of their business. The group is targeting 500,000 tonnes of boneless Buffalo meat and offal exports in FY23-24 apart from lamb, goat and veal exports.

Being a veteran in meat exports, they are excited about the future of domestic market in India. With a substantial rise in entrants of global QSR companies, the need for an organized professional company with highest quality standards are required. Currently, the group is testing products in the Ready to Eat and Ready to Cook categories with every single multi-store QSR format in India and the demand is expected to surpass exports. Moreover, they are also studying cooked meat exports to explore the untapped markets in Europe.

Their efforts in offering prime meat and contribution to India’s export have been recognized by the Govt of India, Federation of Indian Export Organizations and various State Governments in the form of numerous awards. APEDA (Govt. of India), the apex body promoting the export of Agri and processed food products in has presented Allana the gold and platinum award for the last 30 years for being the largest exporter from the industry.
