Exports of fresh and chilled beef from Belarus have grown both in volume and value in the first six months of 2018.

Belarus exported 19.3% more beef in H1

In the first half of this year, Belarus exported 55,000 tons of fresh and chilled beef, an increase in volume of 19.3% compared to year-earlier levels. In terms of value, the exports reached 204.27 million dollars, up 21.3% compared to the first half of 2017, as reported by reform.by.

According to data released by Belstat, in June, the exports of beef reached a volume of 8.6 thousand tons and were close to the level reported in May.

Russia received 52.8 thousand tons of meat from Belarus in the first half of 2018, which is 17.1% more than in the corresponding period from 2017. In terms of value, exports increased by 19.4% to $ 198 million.

Belarus further exported to Russia another 3.6 thousand tons of frozen beef in June. Since the beginning of the year, exports have increased by 15.2% to 20.8 thousand tons, and in value terms - by 24.1% to $ 76.9 million.

The share of the Russian market accounts for 87.9% of the supply of Belarusian frozen beef. Since the beginning of the year 18,300 tons were sent to this country, or 14.6% more than a year ago. Revenue increased by 23.8% to 69.15 million dollars.

In June, Belarus continued to ship its beef to China, which received another 40 tons of Belarusian products. In May-June, 75 tons of beef were delivered to China. Another 39 tons of meat were sold to Hong Kong and 266 to Vietnam during the first half of the year.
