Brazil: Egg export revenue increased in 2022
In volume, Brazilian sales of eggs to the foreign market reached 446 tons in the eighth month of this year, a performance 21.5% lower than that achieved in 2021, with 568 tons.
In the accumulated period between January and August, Brazilian sales totaled revenue of US$ 16.270 million, a number 61.7% higher than that recorded in the same period in 2021, with US$ 10.060 million.
In volume, the accumulated increase is 13.5% in the first eight months of this year, with 7,583 thousand tons in 2022, against 6,678 thousand tons in 2021.
The United Arab Emirates continue to be the main destinations for Brazilian egg exports, importing 4,332 thousand tons between January and August, a volume 2.2% higher than in 2021, with 4,231 thousand tons. In second place, Japan was the destination of 728 tons in the same period, a number 40.9% higher than the volume shipped in 2021, with 517 tons.
"There are indications that, for the first time, we should close this year with shipments equivalent to 1% of total Brazilian production, an important milestone for the sector that has been growing in a sustainable way, with sales to Asia and the Middle East," analyzes Ricardo Santin, president of the ABPA.
