Brazilian beef exports grew in February, hitting a record for the month

Brazilian beef exports totaled 267,319 thousand tons in February 2026, generating revenue of US$1.44 billion, according to data from the Secretariat of Foreign Trade (Secex) compiled by the Brazilian Association of Meat Exporting Industries (ABIEC).

Compared to February 2025, the result represents a 21.6% increase in volume shipped and a 38.2% increase in revenue, reflecting the expansion of international demand for Brazilian protein. The performance also slightly surpasses that recorded in January 2026, when exports totaled US$1.404 billion and 264,000 tons, consolidating the best result ever recorded for a February in the historical series.

In the first two months of January and February 2026, Brazilian beef exports reached 531,298 tons, generating US$2.84 billion in revenue, representing an increase of 23.8% in volume and 39.2% in value compared to the same period last year.

Fresh beef remains the main exported product, with 235,890 tons shipped in February, equivalent to 88.2% of the total volume exported and 92.2% of the revenue obtained in the month.

Among the destinations, China remains the main market, with 106,702 tons imported in February, followed by the United States, with 39,440 tons, in addition to Russia (15,762 t), Chile (13,857 t) and the European Union (9,084 t) among the main buyers of Brazilian beef.

Among the relevant markets, Russia, Mexico, and Chile showed significant growth in purchases compared to the previous month, with increases of 111.6%, 132%, and 37.6%, respectively, while exports to the European Union advanced 21.2% during the period.

According to the president of ABIEC, Roberto Perosa, the numbers reinforce the presence of Brazilian beef in international trade. "Brazil continues to expand its presence in international markets with a regular supply, product quality, and diversification of destinations, factors that support the growth of beef exports," he concludes.
