Brazil's pork exports up by 17% in July
The Brazilian Association of Animal Protein (ABPA) said that this with this increase, the sector's revenue totaled $105.8 million. Still, in value, this was 13.8% lower compared with the figures reported in July 2017, when Brazilian pork exports totaled $122.7 million.
Exports between January and July totaled 293.7 thousand tons, 14.2% less than the 342.4 thousand tons shipped in the first seven months of last year. The revenue from sales reached $619.3 million, a result 28.2% lower than the $863 million obtained in 2017.
ABPA says that the situation regarding pork exports was the same as that of the chicken meat exports. Strong Chinese product purchases continue, reducing the impact of the Russian embargo on the Brazilian sector.
"Despite this, if we consider the average of the last two months combined, we see shipment volumes of 43.4 thousand tons, a level close to the average recorded in 2017, " Ricardo Santin, executive director of ABPA, explained.
