Duck processing takes a new shape with Stork ACM-NT
An automatic modular in-line cut-up system line for duck portioning is ready to give an impulse to duck processor businesses, announced Marel Poultry in a press release. The Stork ACM-NT system is capable of handling 6000 ducks/hour of up to 2.8 kg eviscerated weight, informs the company.
The system stands as the only one of its kind currently in the market and it can handle both air and water chilled products. The Stork ACM-NT technology has already been adopted by processors for Asia-Pacific region, the British Isles, Russia and Central Europe.
According to the producer, the machine uses the unique Stork Sigma overhead conveyor, with a flexibility capable to suit the exact processing and layout requirements of each individual plant. The system is fully modular. If and when processing requirements change, different parts of the Stork ACM-NT system can be moved or added.
Also, the technology included in this system allows different types of cuts from carcasses at butcher quality making the Stork ACM-NT an extremely versatile tool for processors.
An ACM-NT duck cut-up line can be extended upstream to accommodate a QS3 quality grading station and a SmartWeigher. In this situation, ACM-NT becomes a combined whole carcass distribution and cut-up line which can be controlled by a by a single Innova PDS system. This will allow the plant management to determine exactly how each carcass is cut, also which carcasses to release for sale whole.
