Poland becomes the only European country to export poultry to China

Polish authorities have to in their mission to re-open the Chinese market for poultry after a two-year ban caused by an outbreak of highly pathogenic avian influenza in poultry, in December 2016.
It took 11 months for Poland to be recognized by the Chinese authorities as a country free from avian influenza and to start negotiations on the resumption of poultry exports. On July 3, 2018, a new protocol was signed regarding the export of poultry meat between the Polish and Chinese authorities. Since that time, arrangements have been made between the Polish veterinary authorities and the Chinese customs administration (GACC) regarding technical aspects of the resumption of poultry exports, informs Agropolska magazine.
"Leading the reopening of the Chinese market for Polish poultry was the result of lengthy efforts undertaken by representatives of the Polish government administration, as well as the poultry industry represented by the National Poultry Council - Chamber of Commerce", said a statement of the Polish National Poultry Council (KRD-IG).
At this time, Poland is the first European country to export poultry to China. Apart from that, only five other countries in the world have access to this market.
