Poland wants to build the largest poultry slaughterhouse in Europe

Poland is the biggest poultry producer in EU and intends to keep this advantage by developing new programs and projects that can increase the production and the export capabilities.
One of the projects that are going to preserve its leading position is developed by Cedrob Group and it could become reality in almost 5 years from now, according to what president Andrzej Gozdzikowski said in an interview for Portal Spozywczy.
Ducks and geese are at the base of the project Duck 300 which intends to create a partnership between the group and local farmers.
"We are already a producer of geese. This is seasonal production, but the breeders expect us to produce a duck outside the geese season. Duck 300 is a way to meet these breeders and their economic interests. I also observe a tendency in the market to look for various new products and niche products. We are a company in the food industry, and the duck expands our portfolio. I assume that the full implementation will take us at least 5 years", explained Gozdzikowski in the interview.
As part of the program, Cedrob Group intends to build the most modern and largest poultry slaughterhouse in Europe right at Kutno, in the heart of Poland. "Poland is the 2-3 producer of duck in Europe today, but let us remember that it is a niche market. The construction of a modern slaughterhouse and a modern breeding environment gives a chance for production not only to Europe but also to the Asian and African markets", added Andrzej Gozdzikowski.
For this year, Poland is expected to deliver 20% of the total poultry production in the EU.
