Polish KRD-IG names banker as Director-General
Dariusz Goszczynski, a former banker and official in the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, is replacing Lukasz Dominiak in the position of Director-General of KRD-IG, Poland’s National Poultry Council - Chamber of Commerce. “Before taking up a new function, Dariusz Goszczy?ski was associated with the banking sector, where, among others, he was responsible for creating financial instruments to support agro-business. Previously, the new General Director of KRD-IG worked at the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development in the Department of Agricultural Markets, Promotion and Communication Department and the Programming and Analysis Department. Dariusz Goszczynski supported the ministry, among others, in creating quality systems and in the promotion of Polish food on foreign markets. The Director-General of KRD-IG will deal with the chamber of cooperation with national administration and international organizations, further promotion of Polish poultry and acquiring new sales markets for the dynamically developing Polish poultry industry, being the leader of EU production,” announced the chamber in a press release.
Lukasz Dominiak, who was leaving the function of the Director-General of KRD-IG, has been associated with the chamber since January 2011 and was involved in, among others, implementing tasks for the organization, including promotional projects financed by the Poultry Meat Promotion Fund and EU subsidies. Lukasz Dominiak actively cooperated with the European Commission and EU industry organizations, including the European Association of Producers, Importers and Exporters of Poultry Meat AVEC, the European Association of Meat Processors and Poultry Processors CLITRAVI, as well as the European Association of Poultry Live and Hatching Eggs ELPHA. As the General Director of KRD-IG Lukasz Dominiak had a real impact on the re-opening of the Chinese market for domestic products.
Nevertheless, Polish poultry exports to China are still low and the new General Director of the chamber will have to secure a larger market share for Poland in that market. Also, priority challenges facing the Director-General of KRD-IG Dariusz Goszczynski will Brexit and Mercosur trade agreement. Both political and economic events force the chamber to search for new sales markets, expand cooperation with third countries and active activity on the forum of EU and global industry organizations.
