Saudi Arabia bans shrimp fishing until July
The Director General of Fisheries, Eng. Khalid Al-Shayie, said the ban begins on February 1, 2019, until July 31, 2019.
Mr. Al-Shayie urged fishermen to meet the scheduled date of fishing, and to comply with the fishing regulations.
Saudi Arabia exported $228.2 million worth of frozen seawater shrimp in 2017. The Kingdom is one of the fastest-growing frozen seawater shrimps exporter, increasing its shipments by 2,620% between 2013 and 2017, according to worldtopexports.com.
