Spain: Pork products adaptability to new challenges and demands

These are reverse missions, visits by foreign professionals, organized by the Interprofessional del INTERPORC together with ICEX, within the collaboration agreement between both organizations.

During their stay, accompanied by representatives of the Interprofessional, they were making visits to the facilities of seven companies, to learn about the diversity of Spanish pork meat and products, as well as the Spanish white-coated pig production system.
Trade missions reinforce the promotional and commercial activity carried out by INTERPORC at an international level, which is why they contribute greatly to adding to the internationalization of the Spanish economy.

Daniel de Miguel, International Director of INTERPORC, highlights "the importance of these actions, which allow us to show our production system live, which has the highest quality standards in the world and guarantees food safety."
And he adds that "we must not forget that current consumers also demand other conditions such as animal welfare, biosecurity, sustainability... All of this is fulfilled by Spanish companies, so these visits by foreign professionals are an excellent opportunity to show them that we have the right products they demand in their countries”.

In 2022, South Korea ranked sixth as a destination for Spanish pork product exports, with a total of 145,339 tons worth 477 405 073 euros, Malaysia ranked 25th, with 17,017 tons and 43 935 234 euros and Chile the 28th, with 13,198 tons and 42 615 818 euros.
