Turkey's chicken meat production up 3.7% in September

Turkey's chicken meat production reached 165,953 tonnes in September, increasing by 3.7% compared with the similar month in 2017 and by 4.7% compared with the previous month this year, according to the latest data released by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TurkStat).

Turkey's chicken meat production up 3.7% in September

The number of slaughtered chicken reached 94 million in September, which increased by 7.4% compared with the level reported in September 2017 and by 1.7% compared with the previous month from this year.

Meanwhile, the turkey meat production reached 5,892 tonnes in September. The production increased by 30.5% compared with the same month of the previous year and by 8.2% compared with the previous month.

The number of slaughtered turkey increased by 30.7% in September compared with the same month of the previous year and by 5.1% compared with the previous month.

Hen egg production was 1.6 billion units in September. The production decreased by 1.1% compared with the similar period from 2018 and by 1.9% compared with the previous month.
