Turkey's red meat production increased by 12.2% in Q2 2017

Red meat production in Turkey reported an increase of 12.2% in the second quarter from 2017, compared to the first quarter, reaching 260,683 tons, according to the Turkish Statistical Institute.

Turkey's red meat production increased by 12.2% in Q2 2017

 

Compared to the similar period in 2016, the red meat production decreased by 3.4% in the second quarter of this year.

From the total red meat production, the amount produced in slaughterhouses accounted for 140,093 tons.

In the second quarter, cattle meat production saw an increase of 10.3% compared to the previous quarter, but it decreased by 5.6% according to the similar period from 2016.

Whereas sheep meat production increased 19.3% according to the previous quarter, it decreased 2.1% when compared with the same quarter of last year.
