UAE bans poultry imports from Bulgaria

Bulgarian poultry products are banned for the second time this year by the UAE authorities due to bird flu outbreak reported on a farm near the city of Plovdiv. At the end of last week, Bulgaria's veterinary watchdog reported the outbreak and informed that all the birds were to be culled.
The official announcement triggered a fast response from UAE's Ministry of Climate Change and Environment regarding the immediate ban of import of all kinds of live domestic and wild birds, ornamental birds, chicks, hatching eggs, and thermally not-treated products from Bulgaria.
Additionally, table eggs from the city of Plovdiv were also being banned, informs Khaleej Times newspaper. The first ban on Bulgarian poultry was placed in March this year and it was lifted a month ago.
