Ukraine gets clearance for poultry exports to Japan
Ukraine has now the right to export poultry in the Japanese market after both sides have signed the veterinary certificates, according to the State Service of Ukraine for Food Safety and Consumers' Rights Protection.
This one of the markets that Ukraine has focused to open this year for its poultry. Over the past two years, 21 new markets have been open for Ukrainian poultry products, of which 14 are for poultry and 7 for eggs, increasing fast the volumes exported.
The current plan is focused on opening 24 markets between 2019-2020. According to the State Fiscal Service, in the first half of 2019, Ukraine exported 211,200 tonnes of poultry, up by 38.4% from the same period last year. In 2019, Ukraine has opened new markets for poultry such as Bosnia-Herzegovina and Middle East countries, including Iran, UAE and Saudi Arabia.
