Ukranian poultry exports increased by 28%
The Ukrainian poultry industry is thriving on increased demand from different regions in the world such as the EU, the Middle East and Asia. During the first 7 months of the year, poultry exports have reached 275,470 tonnes, an increase of 28.4% compared to the same period last year, according to the latest report issued by the State Fiscal Service.
In monetary terms, poultry exports increased by 20.4%, reaching $401.78 million. Poultry and offal imports for the seven months fell by 4.4%, to 82,200 tonnes, in monetary terms by 3.7%, to $32.86 million.
At the same time, pork exports in January-August 2019 rose by 4.2% compared to the same period last year, totaling 1,410 tonnes worth $3.13 million. Pork imports to Ukraine have increased by 3.9% to 16,330 tonnes worth $31.1 million, higher by $1.6 million than the amount paid last year.
