Spain is a new market for German pork producer SCHWEDE Fleisch who was present with its own stand at Alimentaria 2018 in Barcelona. The company is specialized in sausages and cold meats and is having an export ratio of about 95%.
"Only 5% of our products remain in Germany. That's the reason we are looking for international affairs. Alimentaria is a good platform to meet new clients. For us is a new market. We haven't been here before", explained Michael Stoter, Business Leading Associate at SCHWEDE.
In his opinion, 2017 was a good year for pork producers. "All the pork markets have consolidated in the last year. This year, circumstances are fine for our company and there is no trouble from outside. We are exporting to China, Hong Kong, Vietnam, Korea but we also focus on European countries", mentioned Mr Stoter in an interview for EuroMeatNews.
