Vietnam exported more tuna to the Netherlands
The Vietnam Association of Seafood Exporters and Producers (VASEP) said that, based on Vietnam customs, Vietnam’s tuna exports of Portugal in the first five months of 2018 totaled US$5.9 million, accounting for 2.4% of the total value of Vietnamese tuna export. Compared with the same period in 2017, Vietnam's tuna exports to this market inched up over 262%.
Vietnamese tuna companies increased shipments of other processed tuna products. VASEP explained that while last year other processed tuna products of Vietnam did not reach this market, but this year exports of this item to the market hit more than US$3.5 million. This year, Vietnamese exports of frozen tuna fillets to the country also rose by over195%.
